Going out is so not what it use to be! I use to be able to drink, dance, barhop with the best of them till the wee hours of the night. Then wake up the next morning and go to work without even giving 4 hours of sleep and a hangover a second thought. Um, yeah, not anymore. Last night was a friend's 30th celebration. For the past month I've been looking forward to getting dressed up and staying out past 10:30pm (Stella always wakes up at this time). Mind you, Stella will be 7 months next week, and this is the first time I have left her at night, for more then 3 hours! So this is huge. But of course, my mom gets sick, Stella refuses to go to sleep at 7, 7:30, or 8. When I finally get to the party I order a delicious well deserved glass of wine, wish my friend Jessika a happy birthday, make my rounds and check my phone every 20 minutes.
This morning I woke up with a slight hangover off of 2 glasses of wine! How rude is that?! Popping some advil and getting a greasy cheeseburger with a huge coke is not as easy as it use to be either. Stella was nice enough to sleep in till 8:30am, but demanded my full attention the rest of the day. I use to see mom's go out all the time, how do they do it?!? Where do they have the energy? What do they do about their hangover and curious baby hands reaching and grabbing whatever is in sight?

A little background information...
Once upon a time there was a fabulous woman named Valentina. As most fabulous 20 something year olds, Valentina loved to go out and have fun with her friends. Shopping, dinner parties, bar hopping, clubs... it was fun, she was there. One day she met a frog who seemed like he could eventually be a Prince. They hung out a few times, he told her what she wanted to hear, and well, you know the rest.
Shortly after, she found out that she was expecting a little bundle of joy. And the frog, well he never turned into a Prince. In fact, he hippity hopped his way out of her life without giving it a second thought.
Lovely, right? Just what I always wanted, to be a single mommy! Woo-hoo, every little girls dream. That's what my first thoughts were. But now, I wouldn't change it for the world. Granted, it's not ideal, and it is extremely challenging at times. But I love my daughter more then I ever thought possible and can not picture my life without her.
I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. Stella (my gorgeous daughter), has saved me from myself. She has brought my family and I closer, made me revaluate my lifestyle and my career choice. Because of this tiny little person I am back at school, determined to finish and start a new, more stable career in order to provide a loving home for my daughter and I.
To whoever will actually read this blog, enjoy!
